Our Merino socks are not pre-washed, therefore they will be larger in size before washing (almost by one shoe size). They will also gain in texture and feel more snug on your foot after the first wash.

Care: Machine wash cold (max 30°) and line dry.

The short answer is because merino wool keeps your feet dry and warm no matter what. The long answer is this... Merino wool is one of nature's best insulators and superb at retaining body heat. Because of its naturally porous fibers, it doesn't absorb water the same way cotton or synthetic materials do.
